My Brother

A proud Marine, a friend, a brother
Your writings are gold, and like no others
experienced in war, survivor and teacher
the wisdom you share goes much, much deeper
Words that you write, stories you tell
shows me brother that you have gone though Hell
friends who perished, friends who survived
are honored by your words and very much alive
comfort you have given, the honor and respect
those that read your words, shall never forget
A proud Marine scared by War
there to help, opening your door
lost friends can never be replaced
in your mind, remembering each face
The battles, the horror you have felt and seen
Semper Fi, my brother
"there is no such thing as an ex-Marine"
You have made me proud, you are my blood
what I offer you is respect and love
It's been many years sense Vietnam
knowing one thing "you do give a damn"
