EMPTY CHAIR?

An empty chair at this table

with a candle burning bright

 hero's never returned from war

it burns each and every night

A symbol of remembrance

for the POW's and MIA's

as they grace this table

in their own special way

These Men are not forgotten

for what they have done

this chair will remain empty

waiting for each and every one

Many now are seated

their presence felt by some

 the pains of war now vanished

and have been overcome

As they try to tell us

that everything's just fine

they now enjoy their freedom

in another place in time

 As we sit down at the table

and focus on that chair

maybe those thought missing

are really sitting there
