"Veterans Welcome Here"

I've heard it all my friends

 for my ears...... I always lend

stories of war, seeing the results

as veterans sit, talking about what they were dealt

un-curable pain written on their faces

hurting words in so many cases

trying to understand our governments rejection

the promises broken after elections

scared from battles, from promises un-kept

nightmares of torture as they slept 

reaching out, for our leaders' help

 wanting them to hear about the pain they've  felt

these  lasting affects caused by Sam

many elected officials don't give a damn

It was in our government they put their trust

more important issues they say are a must

not thinking about the freedom they endure

and all the Veterans who fought  these wars

Visit the Wall, visit the graves

take a long hard look at all these names

Those who came back to this once great land

should be thanked, shake their hand

offer them the respect they deserve

your simple thank you, will sure be heard
