Shoogar Slug

A rare creature that is found in the sweet mushroom groves on Bytopia. A tiny creature measuring up to 2 inches long, with sour-milk-white skin freckled with vibrant greenish spots along its back length. The shoogar slug feeds exclusively upon the tart tasting spores of the Booganin mushroom found only on the mossy slopes surrounding Gooblumdee..
The shoogar slug is a peculiar creature of strange value to weary travelers. When dried out, and kept in an air tight jar, they act as a form of candied jerky that is sweeter naturally than the chocolate poured by the priestesses of Aphrodite, or the sprites of Arvandor. The strange effect the slug has on the consumer is one of joy. Only gleeful, lip smacking smiles are able to be experienced for 1d10 rnds after being eaten. Ingesters receive a bonus +3 to all saving throws needed to overcome spells, or activities, which may cause them negative emotional affects. Eating a sugar slug makes it hard for the ingester to be saddened.
The folk of Gooblumdee (mainly inhabitated by the small folk) run an extremely profitable Booganin mushroom harvesting community. There they have taken to cultivating and encouraging the growth of the shoogar slug population. Shoogar slugs are collected and dried in the famous Gooblumdee’s "Shoogar Sluggary" and shipped via balloon flight-toss deliveries across Bytopia.
