Salt in the Wound (Evocation; Level 2)
Written by Michael Emery
Range: Touch
Components: S, M
Duration: 3 rounds +1 round/level
Casting Time:1
Area of Effect:1 creature
Saving Throw: Special
A twisted fascination with the Paraelemental Plane of Salt is the painful cause
of this spell. Mercy was not an attribute of its creator. When the wizard casts this spell, if the target
touched has any wounds which are unhealed, the target will receive 1d4
damage without saving throw. In each of the following rounds until the duration
of the spell is over, the target must make a successful saving throw vs. spell
or receive a -1 cumulative penalty. The penalties are removed once the spell has
ended. The wizard can not cancel the spell once it has cast.
The material components of this spell are a handful of any kind of salt in each hand of the caster, which is consumed during the
spell as it soaks into the targets wounds, and a wounded target. The wizard must rub the salt onto the target, symbolically "adding salt to the
wound(s)" . This spell can only effect those creatures of flesh and blood.
