Sir Humphry Wakefield presents the great privately-housed and
rarely seen treasures of England, Ireland and Scotland. The best of
Baker, many of these extraordinary designs are the creations of the most
lauded figures in the history of 17th, 18th, and 19th century furniture.
Each piece is a reproduction almost entirely joined, carved, inlaid, and
finished in the old world tradition of hand work. Dining, bedroom and
occasional furniture are crafted in mahogany, walnut, satinwood,
rosewood, and burl veneers.

In the
18th Century, Charleston, South Carolina was a center of continental
taste where some of the most refined furniture from England and France
mingled with the products of its own legendary shops and craftsmen. This
collection reproduces the most striking pieces from that period in
figured mahogany, pine and a variety of accent veneers. Dining, bedroom
and occasional furniture. The royalties produced by this collection
support the preservation efforts of Historic Charleston.
