Ulrike, Germany |
Ulrike is Dianas friend from Germany. She was the first to arrive in England - already on the Tuesday. She was therefore be responsible for the welcome ceremony and for properly introducing the German cold virus to the environment before the rest of the group arrived. Poor Ulrike spent a considerable amount of time sniffling away to her tunes on the Welsh piano at Ffridd Farm. |
 Sanu, India |
Sanu is the Indian Princess living across the road from Tina and AJ. She is a biochemist and also a magician currently working on lifting people with just one finger. The OUTC world Wales trip was Sanu's introduction to the great outdoors, tramping and to the mad Western Easter Bunnies who do not wash or change clothes. |
Bec, Australia |
Against the better judgement of the Kiwis present, an Australian was allowed to attend the Easter Reunion for the first time this year. However, Bec also has her connections to the OUTC tramping club, having spent some time in Dunedin with the crusty Scarfies. She is currently living in the UK where she working as a vet looking after disturbed sheep and other animals as we all know that England is full of homesick Kiwis and Aussies. |
Cave-Dave, New Zealand |
Cave-Dave is a blonde Kiwi male recognized by most people by his stubbies and white gumboots. Used to run around impressing the Dunedin girls with his one-piece striped polyprop thermal underwear suit and his high level of crustiness. In Wales he was the man to take some of us (and other tourists) to the Snowdon peak via the ridge walk Crib Goch. |
Katarina, Germany |
Katarina is Klaus girlfriend who suddenly fell into Klaus big German arms at the last Easter Reunion in Germany when we were all sitting around the bonfire on the last night there and no one noticed except for Klaus and Katarina themselves. |
Miki, Israel |
Miki is an Israeli Kiwi now hanging out in Gothenburg, Sweden with Crusty Craig. Like Craig, Miki is also a biochemist, and keen on the outdoors. Been kayaking in the cold Swedish waters, but makes up for life in the cold by visiting her Kiwi family in Israel from time to time. |
AJ, New Zealand |
AJ is a Kiwi in Cambridge. Since the first Easter in Abel Tasman something called hygge has encroached on his life, and he has now learned to live with it. AJ is so laid-back that he is almost horizontal and is currently learning Danish full time. Understands mostly only rude phrases for some reason perhaps to do with his Danish teacher. |
Deike, Germany |
The first of the Vikings (with Tina) in Abel Tasman and also of the Biking Vikings, who toured around New Zealands Northland with big horns on their helmets. Deike is a dynamic German, early morning bird and keen cycle-tourer. While in NZ, she attracted crowds to Queenstown (both in her job and spare time - us) and her current job is to attract people to her university town, Osnabruck. |
Cindy, USA |
Cindy is the second Biking Viking (New Zealand East Cape on a bike), who spent a whole year studying and laughing out loud in New Zealand (mostly laughing out loud) with Tina as her flat mate. She is a nurse practioner in Missouri and knows the most entertaining E.R. stories you can imagine. Ask her to tell you some! In Wales she provided instant entertainment by wrecking the wheel on the rental car. |
Jen, USA |
Cindys friend who visited us all in New Zealand and did a few tramps with us (Stewart Island, Mueller Hut). Usually picks up everything she finds in nature - stones, shells and all sorts of bones. Currently spending her time looking at broken bones and noses in an E.R in Missouri and knows a few good E.R stories to go with Cindys. Participating from the USA in the OUTC Easter Reunion for the 3rd time! |
Helene, Sweden |
A Stockholm city girl, master of Swedish schnapps drinking events accompanied by rude Swedish music in her student flat in Dunedin. Now she is trying to master children as a teacher, although life was probably easier when she mastered bakery delicacies in a Stockholm bakery. Will be the hostess of the mostess with Craig and Miki in Sweden, 2005. |
Piet, Germany |
Piet was the master Easter Bunny last year at his familys farm. He is currently sitting exams to finish his teaching degree in maths and phys.ed. Famous for his Stewart Island slide show which several of us have seen several times and looking forward to seeing again! Now contemplating going travelling to (finally) acquire a new slideshow. |
Klaus, Germany |
Klaus came out to NZ to visit and tramp around with his little somewhat bigger brother, Piet and other people from the OUTC. Then he went home to Germany and tramped straight into a job with Toyota in Germany where he spends his time looking at Formula 1 racing cars of some sort and getting their T-shits! |
Tino, Germany |
Environmental, or just mental, biked all the way to Denmark for the 1st Easter Reunion, and walked from the train station to Piets farm last year. At the moment, his purpose of life also has something to do with the environment, making sure that sea birds do not commit suicide on wind mills. Obviously, Tino poses no threat to anyone, but always gets killed first when we play Mafia. |
Craig, New Zealand |
Abel Tasman crusty sausage in a sea kayak, now living in Gothenburg, where bugs and rocks seem to have caught his interest for at least 3 years as he is doing his Ph.D. there. Is a bit of a bug himself and climbs rocks here and there, but mostly in NZ if he can. Has travelled the world with his job to far away places such as Copenhagen. |
Diana, Germany |
Rotary student along with Cindy and Tina in Dunedin, spent a year training rats to do mental things and going tramping in between. Travels to outdoorsy place such as Petagonia, but has now real job in real life with a real uniform. Perhaps this year well finally get to meet her life-long friend Stoa Schissa Koarl (Stone-shitting Charlie). |
Paulina, Poland |
Paulina Speedy mad-woman from Poland who goes all the way with or without enough drink and food, as on Mt Anglem, Stewart Island. Always exciting to be around, as she is extremely unpredictable, especially when she is driving. Was causing trouble for Nestle in Poland - but has now switched to Kraft |
Tina, Denmark |
Schnapps drinking and singing Biking Viking, happy to be around equally crusty people and always keen on anything taking place outside. Spent most of the past year inside studying, though, but has finally made it and is now hanging out with people from all over the world on an everyday basis at a Cambridge language school and getting paid for it!. |
Red Erik, England |
A very sociable creature and our only participant from the UK, Red Erik found it very interesting meeting you all, and was delighted to be a part of the welcome committee as you arrived at AJ and Tinas flat. Despite his quiet personality, his is overwhelming presence certainly made a lot of people cry and sniffle and itch. Always keen on a cuddle - even of the more dubious sort as we see here with Piet. |
