hovercraft plans

these arent plans so much as a journal. but here goes...

first I got the board, 8 ft by 4 ft, went in from the corners 1 ft and made a line between them, then cut them off, stained it, and cut a hole 2 or 3 inches in from the back for the leafblower. Instructions for it are here

Then I forced my mother to sew together the skirt, that you can find instructions for it here

Then I took the whole thing outside and propped it up on sawhorses. I then took a staplegun and tacked the skirt on to the board.

After that I took the whole assembly and flipped it over.

Then I started to attach the batons on to the sides, to do this I predrilled for the screws, and then screwed them in, the screws were, 1 inch long.

I then finished the front and tacked the middle part of the underside of the skirt down and repeated the process.

The hovercraft was ready, to be truthfull it looks alot better with all the stuff I have yet planned for it than flat. This is a picture I took of it just before testing it.

PERFECT! everything goes as planned. It will lift up to about 300 lbs, but we only went to around 250 lbs, here is a picture of my friend and me standing on it. My friend is very shy and as such, didnt want to be in the picture, so I fuzzed is head out! ahahahaaa....

The other elements such as the propulsion will be added shortly, I am using a gas weedwhacker for that.
