this is a plan for a cotton candy machine, i have not made it succsessfully due to the fact that I have not found a sutable heating source for the sugar.
first of all, lets talk about
okay, first lets start with the bowl, you should be able to get a thin metal bowl about a foot accross ( I used plastic but it was not that big and presented some difficulties and I made sure it was the kind that was microwavable.) next take a drill and make a hole in the exact center. put a fast spinning motor (this motor must have a slightly longer shaft than normal motors) and glue it in like so:
Then attach some sort of heat resistant canister ( I used a film canister ) and poke some extreemly small holes in it near the bottom (use needle and pliers)
now take the maximum power the motor can handle and give it to it, the canister should not wobble! ( if it does it will probably fall off during opperation)
next take some sort of wire that will heat up to very high temperatures ( I call that wire heater wire or resistor wire(used in racecar tracks) and coil it around some fire proof cloth,(if you got it off a controler it should have come like that) take the two ends and attach them to a switch of some kind, see wiring plans and insert the coil into the canister near the bottom. then take some heavy duty coper wire and attach it to the melting canister and the bowl. The end device looks like this,
so, you are now done, ecxept for the wiring that is, (see above) If built correctly when you put sugar in the top and turn on the heating switch and the motor switch it should start melting the sugar so that its melts through the screen and drips down into the other container (witch should be left open) and be spun out the sides to make cotton candy
