After attending school in Richmond County, NC, he went on to Wingate College and then on to the University of North Carolina majoring in mechanical engineering. After leaving college, he worked with LOF glass products for 12 1/2 years until downsizing offered a chance to leave while saving another persons job. He is utilizing this time in finishing a house he is building almost totally by himself.
At age 9, Chris was in church when prior to services heard a musician playing 'boogie-woogie' on a piano and had to learn how to do it himself. After becoming accomplished with piano, he moved on to guitar at age 13 and took up fiddle 3 years ago.
He currently contributes his talents to two bands other than Outback. He plays guitar and keyboard for the rock band Mudbone as well as fiddle for Mcfarland Road.
