Lingering Voices
By Ignacio S. Benavente Jr.

A Tribute

Let my voice carry through the walls,
Because even then, the walls have ears.
Let the my voice carry through the fields and mountains,
It is there, that I am a herald.
Let my voice carry through the rivers streams,
Let its mouth proclaim my message.
Let my voice carry through the ocean,
Because then my message drifts to the continents.
Let my voice carry through the atmosphere,
So that the whole world may hear.

Let my voice carry through the songs of birds,
There songs sweeten my call.
Let my voice carry through the clouds,
To remain the same, but drift with ever changing winds.
Let my voice carry through the rain,
To mirror the tears shed through the heavens.
Let my voice carry though suns rays,
So that my message may bare light through the shadows.
Let my voice carry through the stars,
So that all may see the same stars we see.

Let those calls be nothing but of peace,
To spread the love through the painted sky,
To our lands over the rainbow,
For that which we hear are Our Lingering Voices.
