We got up around 8am or so. We got the car, and drove out to UNLV. Cheryl wanted a sweatshirt. We took touristy pictures in front of a palm tree, and walked around until we found the bookstore. It was a beautiful day out. Cheryl got checked out. Maggie found the blue pens she loves, and can't find anywhere. She bought a bunch.

Maggie and Cheryl

We headed down the street for the Hard Rock Cafe, and on the way, passed THE FIREMAN. Of course I had to miss him! According to them, he is the new standard to base other guys on. We got burgers at the Hard Rock, bought t-shirts, bears..... some for us, some for gifts. Then we went back to the hotel.

We walked to the Strip. NEVER AGAIN! Stalker!!! There was a guy walking in front of us in green sweats and a holey jean jacket. He was muttering stuff to himself, and would keep looking at us. At one point he turned around, and headed towards us. As he passed us, I heard him say something about 15 years in prison. About 10 yards behind us, he turned back around. We never walked so fast! What was worrying me was we were approaching the walkway that goes over the highway, is that it is enclosed..... no where to go if we needed to, not even into traffic. Maggie was prepared to push him into traffic if needed. Finally, he crossed the street. But he kept looking at us. We almost grabbed these 2 guys we passed and asked them to walk us the rest of the way to the Strip. We finally made it. Amy called Ashley on out way to the Mirage, and she put us on hold!!! Later that evening, we passed the stalker on the street. I couldn't believe it. He turned around and looked at us, and we walked as fast as our aching feet would allow. At the Mirage, there was an area with Bengal Tigers...or were they Siberian..... can't remember.

We found our way through the hotel and casino to the entrance to the Dolphin Habitat and Secret Garden. Very cool! We were taken on a tour of the dolphin habitat, and then we went into the secret garden.

two of the dolphins through one of the windows on one of the huge pools

There were white tigers and while lions, a puma, an elephant, and more, I think. We have it on video.

Gildah, the Ceremonial Thai Elephant

We were looking at the lions before we left, and the male walked over by me, and roared at me! Don't know if that should have been taken as a good thing or a bad thing!

Then we went back to the dolphins, and you could just walk around and watch them. They had a mini "show" with two of the dolphins and the baby "squirt". Just beautiful!

Then we found the tram to Treasure Island.
