Review by Jen
None
of us got much sleep before we left. I got about 3 and a half hours.
I had to get up at 4am, leave for the airport at 5am, for a 6:45am
flight. This was my first tiem flying Southwest, so I wanted to get
there early. I bougth a couple crossword puzzle books, and read my
book. It was a nice flight. This is what I saw from the plane:
The Colrado Rockies
The Grand Canyon
I managed to stay awake to see the sights. I even saw the Hoover Dam. My flight got in about 15 minutes early, but of course that meant we had to wait for a gate. The luggage carousel for my flight was right next to the one for Amy and Maggie's flight. Since mine wasn't there yet, I wandered around, and found Amy, Maggie, and Maggie's niece Cheryl. Her flight got in about an hour before ours. Then I went to get my luggage, and hauled it over by them. We had a total of 12 pieces of luggage!
Jen and Cheryl, and all our bags
We managed to get our stuff to the car rental area. We had a reservation at Dollar Rental, and Maggie upgraded us to a mini van, since she didn't think we could fit everything in a sedan.....and it wasn't much more per day. The shuttle! They only had 2, and all the other companies had shuttles every couple minutes..... now we know why they were so cheap! We finally got on the 3rd bus. We had a kamikaze bus driver. We got a green mini van. We got everything loaded up.
Amy and HER luggage
Our green van
ALL of our luggage..... 12 pieces!
After we had everything in the van, we took off on the 15. We saw
a guy in a red convertible.... nice enough weather for it.
The hotel from the highway
We got off at Flamingo, and pulled into the hotel. We saw an add for Ricochet on the big video screen outside the hotel. We pulled into valet, and had our bags loaded up. With our coats and stuff, we had a total of 16 items. The guy said to us "I hope you're staying for more than 2 nights".
We went in, waited in line about 5 minutes, if that, and got checked in. Our room was ready. We were in the new Masquerade Tower, 9th floor, room 9007. Easy number to remember. They keys looked like real keys, but were like key cards. On the way to the elevators, as we were walking with our jaws hanging open, Amy saw Shannon in his Titans jersey, and Cheryl saw him looking at us. Probably thought we were nuts!
