Cirith Ungol are a one of a kind band.  They are one of the forefathers of modern doom metal, along with Black Sabbath.  I've not heard a band with a sound like Cirith Ungol, yet.  One of the best underground bands to ever play.  It's a shame they were never heard of, because these guys kick ass.

I've been wanting to review Cirith Ungol for a long time and now I'm doing it.  Cirith Ungol have to be one of the greatest bands that have ever walked the earth.  The sound of this band isn't generic; it's damn good and unique.  Tim Baker has the most unique vocals I've heard in quite some time.  He imitates no-one and nobody tries to pose as him.  It might be because nobody has heard of Ungol or it might be because they kick ass.  'Frost and Fire,' to me, is a landmark record in the metal scene because of the doomy metal they play with Baker's almost-black metal-yet still heavy vocals.  Tracks like Frost and Fire and A Little Fire, along with the bonust track, Cirith Ungol, take this band to a transcendental heaven few bands reach.  At least in my opinion.  I think this is their least common release, but I'm not sure.  If my review of this band doesn't satiate your need, buy it!  If it does, buy it anyway.  You won't find it on any free or paid filesharing networks.  Cirith Ungol are a must for any metal lover.

Well, if my review of 'Frost and Fire' didn't let you know, I'm a big Cirith Ungol fan.  When I got this CD, I almost wet myself because of the pure doom metal of this disc.  More doomy and epic than their first release, Cirith Ungol kick more ass with their second release.  The sound is very similar and that's not a bad thing, because Cirith Ungol's doom metal annihilates anything else.  The bass and guitar, along with the vocals and drums, make this album a killer.  Had these guys been more mainstream then, or even now, they'd probably be up there.  Maybe not, though.  Too many people listen to crap.  Master of the Pit, Cirith Ungol, and King of the Dead are the highlights of this album, as they contain the best doom and epicness on the album.  Get off your ass and buy the album, now!  If not for the doom, do it for the cover art, because they've got some of the best, if not the best, cover art around.
