                    THE NEW BARN
Pics of the new barn!! The first ones in process and the ones following mostly completed (Summer 2005). Only a little finish work left and that may wait til next year as budget allows.

Our barn was family built and designed. We designed it for the comfort of the animals and in the winter it has heated buckets for the horses and goat and heat lamps for the chickens. The stalls and aisleway are rubber matted for the horses comfort. Compatible horses can come and go into stalls at will (doors open in pic). The mini is in the far right stall and has his own paddock. Koko, Jubilee and Tierra have eaten their grain and hay and are headed to the pasture!  Riding ring is to the left.
This is the flip slip of the barn., one the left there is a chain link kennel which the chickens can come into during the day and is a safe haven away from the many foxes in the area. the second window to the left is our tack/feed room, very safe and secure with bars on the window. Spirit is heading into a stall. Two stalls on this side and 4 on the other.
This is the front of our barn, the view from our house. Normally in the summer in the daytime  I keep one half of the front door open as well as 1/2 the back door so Natalie can come and go. Up those stairs is a game room with pool table, work out equipment  and poker table!  It's equipted for the occasional overnite stay. A bit of finish work left, but I love my new barn and spend lots of time down there. Horses seem very comfortable, and I love the fact that we have running water in the barn which  makes chores so much easier.
Ta-Da! the best thing yet, our manure moving machine! Brand new purchase (not new but new to us), and helps alot with the work of composting manure and I can shovel stalls right into it if I want. Love this little machine!
