Updates

Dec. 13, 2001-Nicole has been taken off the respirator and is being tube fed mommy's milk!

And Mommy went home today.



Dec. 23, 2001-Nicole's weight is back up to 1 pound and 15 ounces. She is continuing to make progress and doing good.



Dec. 26, 2001- Nicole is now up to 2 pounds and 4 ounces!!!!! And her oxygen has been turned down to 20%! Go Nicole!



Jan. 1, 2002-Nicole left NICU about 4 days ago. About three days ago, her weight was 2 lbs. 7 oz. It dropped to 2 lbs. 5.4 oz. the day after that. But last night her weight was up to 2 lbs. 7 1/2 oz., oxygen at 38%. Her length is now 14 and 3/4 inches.



Jan. 13, 2002-Mommy saw Nicole twice yesterday and both times she was awake, the second time was because the nurse gave her a bath. She squirmed around in her isolette trying to move from the middle to one end.

Last night, her weight was up to 2 lbs. 15 oz.



Jan. 15, 2002-Nicole finally reached 3 lbs., plus 0.6 oz. She only had one episode with her apnea.



Jan. 20, 2002-Nicole weighs 3 pounds and 5 ounces!!!!! She is no longer on oxygen and is now being fed by bottle!



Jan. 22, 2002-Mommy got to hold Nicole today!!!!!! She now weighs 3 pounds, 6.6 ounces. Getting to be a big girl!



Jan. 29, 2002-Nicole is steady on the gain. She weighs 3 lbs. 15.8 oz. They are going to start trying to put her in an open crib. They had lowered the temp. in her isolette a little more today. She ate really good from her bottle today and took two of them, each in 8 minutes. But she tired out on the third.

Hopefully she'll be home by around Mardi Gras or Valentine's Day. I believe they said she needs to be near or around 5 lbs.



Jan. 31, 2001-She did it!!! She reached 4 lbs. (4 lbs. 1.8 oz.). They were going to put her in an open crib last night, but all the cribs were used. They were all still used up today. When I got there, they were feeding her formula. She didn't really eat it because she has learned the difference between the real and fake stuff.



Feb. 2, 2002-Nicole graduated from her isolette to an open crib late last night. She weighed in at 4 lbs. 3.8 oz. She is now gaining around an ounce a day.



Feb. 12, 2002-Mommy and Daddy got to take Nicole home!!!!!!!!!!



March 20, 2002-Nicole is doing well according to the WIC nurse. She weighs 7 lbs. and is 19" long.



April 1, 2002-I had to take Nicole to the dr. yesterday. She weighs 7 lbs. 6 oz., and is now 20" long! She grew an inch since I took her to her WIC apt. Her head is now just over 14" around.
