Where there is tea, there is hope. ~Sir Arthur Pinero, English Playwright (Thanks, Mr. Berry!) |

To achieve success, one must have
a reasonable, commendable, and achievable goal and must pursue it with
determination and dedication. If the goal is humanitarian the joy will be
all the greater.
To achieve the success you are dreaming of, you have to focus on the elements that will get you to where you are going. I believe that success starts with you and that it only you can make it happen.
Wise sayings often fall on barren
ground; but a kind word is never thrown away. ~Arthur Helps
Animals
are such agreeable friends. They ask no questions; they pass no criticism. ~G.
Elliot Learn
from the mistakes of others--you can’t live long enough to make them all yourself. Life
is like a cafeteria: you choose what you want, but you must pay for what
you take. The
most important work you and I will ever do will be within the walls of
our own homes. ~Harold B. Lee Envy
comes from people’s ignorance of, or lack of belief in, their own gifts.
~Jean Vanier Nothing
is impossible. Some things are just
less likely than others. ~Jonathan Winters And
all for love, and nothing for reward. ~E. Spenser The
only way to get rid of temptation is to yield to it. ~O. Wilde The
essence of humor is sensibility; Warm,
tender fellow-feeling With
all forms of existence. ~T. Carlyle All
human things are subject to decay, and when fate summons, monarchs must
obey. ~J. Dryden Weakness
in character is the only defect which cannot be amended.
~F. LaRochefoucauld The
foundation of every state is the education of its youth. ~Diogenes Live
as long as you may, the first twenty years are the longest half of your
life. ~R. Southey Not
enjoyment, and not sorrow, is
our destined end or way; But
to act, that each tomorrow brings
us further than today. ~H. W. Longfellow If
you see 10 troubles coming down the road, you can be sure that nine will
run into the ditch before they reach you. No
one can achieve greatness unless his life is focused, dedicated, and disciplined. One
touch of nature makes the whole world kin. ~Shakespeare One thorn of experience is worth a whole wilderness of warning. ~Lowen Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday. Memories are treasures made from pleasures we have known. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm. The

that most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my God do you learn. ~C. S. Lewis The
more we know the better we forgive. Whoever feels deeply, feels for all who live. ~Madame

is a true friend who never betrays. ~Confucius In

he cannot go back to his youth. ~J. Burroughs The
example which is followed is the one we set when we are off our guard. Most
knocking is done by people who don’t know how to ring the bell. Nothing
is “opened by mistake” more than the mouth. Watch
your thoughts; they become words. Watch
your words; they become actions. Watch
your actions; they become habits. Watch
your habits; they become character. Watch
your character; for it becomes your destiny. To
enjoy happiness is a great blessing, but to confer it on others is greater. If
you don’t have time to do something right the first time, what makes you
think you’ll have time to do it over? A
house is built of logs and stone, of
tiles and posts and piers; A
home is built of loving deeds that
stand a thousand years. ~V. Hugo The
price of greatness is responsibility. ~W. Churchill The beginning of wisdom is silence; the second stage is listening The
true work of art is but a shadow of divine perfection. ~Michelangelo Happiness
is a timeless thing, just because of “remembering”. Kindness
in words creates confidence. Kindness
in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness
in giving creates love. ~Lao-tzo People
who say they are willing to meet you halfway often are poor judges of distance. Freedom
does not give us the right to do as we please but the liberty to do as
we ought. Cheerful
people, doctors say, resist disease better than the glum ones. In other
words, it’s the surly bird that catches the germ. Logic
is the systematic method of coming to the wrong conclusion with confidence. Good
judgment comes from experience; Experience comes from bad judgment. A
good laugh overcomes more difficulties and dissipates more dark clouds
than any other one thing. ~Laura Ingalls Wilder If
you haven’t any charity in your heart, you have the worst kind of heart
trouble. ~Bob Hope The
real danger is not that machines will begin to think like men, but hat
men will begin to think like machines. ~Sydney J. Harris Do
not feel entitled to anything you do not sweat or struggle for. ~Marian

is the art of seeing things invisible. ~Jonathan Swift The
sign of intelligent people is their ability to control emotions by the
application of reason. True

man is free who is not master of himself. ~Epictetus It
is good to be kind to animals, but humans have feelings, too. If
you’re kind to others, the time will come when they will be kind to you. The
studying you do after your school days really counts; otherwise you know
only that which everybody else does.
A
diamond is a lump of coal that stuck to its job. Bees
can’t make honey and sting at the same time. Tact
is the art of building a fire under people without making their blood boil. A
smile is a powerful weapon, you can even break ice with it. Losing
all your friends because of one is like burning your house down because
of a rat. Existence
would be intolerable if we were never to dream. ~Anatole France Character
may be manifested in the great moments, but it is made in the small ones.
~Phillips Brooks Integrity? That's
when you’re good even when no one is looking! The
woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those who sang
best. Nothing
enhances the joy of living as much as the joy of giving. A
man there was and they called him mad; the more he gave, the more he had. Those
who have learned to give are always receiving and always have more to give. Those
who bring sunshine into the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves. The
pain of discipline is less than the pain of regret. Prejudice
squints when it looks and lies when it talks. A
fanatic is one who, having lost sight of his objectives, redoubles his
efforts. Adversity
introduces a man to himself. Each
stage of life is for living to the fullest. The
thickest cloud may bring the heaviest shower of blessing. If
you want to feel rich, just count all of the things you have that money
can’t buy. If
you don’t believe in co-operation, think of what happens to a car going
down the highway if it loses one wheel. Tact
is the ability to close your mouth before someone else wants to. You
can always spot an educated man. His views are the same as yours. If
you are inclined to sound off, remember the drum; in spite of all its noise,
its empty. It’s
what you learn after you know so much that counts. So keep an open mind. We
tire of those pleasures which we take but never of those we give. ~Mrs.

you are on the rocks, be a lighthouse. ~Mrs. Noel Sapp Learning
to speak in two or more languages is not nearly as hard as learning to
keep your mouth shut in one. ~Nellie Norton Secret
of living well-- To live well, we must have: a faith fit to live by, a
self fit to live with, and a work fit to live for. Greet
the dawn with enthusiasm, and you may expect satisfaction at sunset. We
do not remember days, we remember moments. What
you have outside counts less than what you have inside. The
greatest gift we can give to others is a good example. Dedication
and determination yield success and satisfaction. The
greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.
~H. Carmichael We
can change, slowly and steadily, if we set our will to it. ~Robert H. Benson We
are shaped and fashioned by what we love. ~Johann W. von Goethe Of
all the world’s masterpieces none are so beautiful as those that exist
in nature. ~Stephen Russel Every
generation needs re-generation. ~Charles H. Spurgeon Doubt
is a pain too lonely to know that faith is his twin brother. ~Khalil Gibran Real
happiness is cheap enough, yet how dearly we pay for its counterfeit. To
make a man happy, fill his hands with work. There’s
much to be said for challenging fate instead of ducking behind it. With
each ending comes a new beginning. There are a thousand thoughts lying within a man that he does not know until he takes up a pen to write. ~W. M. Thackery
