These are the rules. I've kept them simple, but please try to follow them to the best of your ability.
- The "Nos"
- No powerplaying - No controlling characters you do not own.
- No swearing - There is no age limit, so this is NECESSARY.
- No advertising - This applies everywhere except the advertising board.
- No bad material - Which means porn, excessive violence, inappropriate images or offensive comments.
- The "Maybes"
- Magic - This is a severe problem here. A detailed list of specifications about magic is provided at the joining board. Yes, magic can be allowed to some extent.
- Characters - Talking animals, shapeshifters, guns, machines, etc. are normally not allowed. Exceptions can be made (conditionally) -- if dicussed with the co-owners first. Go to the OOC board.
- Creatures - Kavanagh is a human sim, generally. Animals can be joined, no conditioning required. However, unicorns, dragons, vampires, gryphons, pegasus...these are all fantasy creatures, less fairy tale. Contact the co-owners if you have questions.
- The "Yeses"
- NPCs - Non-playable characters. A detailed explanation is provided at the bottom of this rules page.
- Biographies - If provided with an image and description of your character, a co-owner can create a page for him or her attached to your character's name on the member's page.
- Lots of fun!! - This is important! Now that you know the rules, this is rule number one! Enjoy.
- You're probably asking "How can there be non-playable characters in an online RPG?" It's difficult to explain. NPCs are categorized into two types. One -- very short-lived characters, probably a merchant seller at the Marketplace or an assassin thrown into a plot. There are many types. The other kind of NPCs are probably better named MPCs -- Multi-piloted Characters. This means that the joined character may be seized and played by anyone at any time. There are a few MPCs everywhere, you simple have to look for them. There is one catch to this rule. MPCs are rare, in which case only co-owners may start them. If control over one of the MPCs gets out of hand, a co-owner will either delete him/her or give him/her to a single player. That should be all...
