Words of encouragement: Sometimes, even our joyful series of Jewish groups must relate to negative issues. Perhaps it's the Jewish blood in all of us - no matter how happy we are, we have to break a dish at weddings, and we have to leave an unfinished section on the wall.
We face the same situation with these Jewish groups. With each group, we could ask why we should risk creating a fringe group that covers niche topics. After all, it may fail.
That's right. For that matter, any Jewish group covers a fringe topic, when considered on a world scale.
A great deal of time and effort is invested when beginning any group. The group itself must be set up; publicity must be sent out; the right kind of subscribers must be attracted (and inappropriate subscribers must be sent on their way), and much, much more. Is it worth investing this effort when it may fail?
Many people would agree that the time would be invested better elsewhere. However, perhaps we should reverse that question: How can we not initiate a group on any important or worthwhile topic? After all, it might succeed.
Leaders should not fear failure. The greater the risk of failure, the greater the potential for success.
Indeed, these groups have seen the solid growth of some topics that did not seem to have much potential. Some fringe topics have grown into the most important groups in the series.
Yes, the subscribers will have to offer positive thinking, vision, and encouragement. They will have to be patient for an extended period of time while the group grows and coalesces. The bottom line, however, remains the same:
What if it succeeds?
I know you are nervous
about that important activity
but don't be intimidated.
Don't try to be charming, intellectual, or funny.
Just be yourself.
