Why do you have so many groups? Some of them are silent right now. Isn't it a waste to have all of those extra groups? Why don't you just cut down on the number of groups and add to the discussion on each one?
Let's do even better. Perhaps there should be just one big group, and you can get all your messages there, right?
Absurd? Of course. We need all these groups out these because there are many different topics. Each participant wants to discuss those topics individually, and doesn't want to talk about everything else. They have their own legitimate agenda.
Uh, oh!
Yes, there is a basis and a reason for each group. This website analyzes the specific content to be raised in each group.
Each group was initiated at the recommendation and urging of several people. It was not created until I believed that nobody else had covered that topic.
This does create a certain risk. However, all success involves a certain risk. In this case, some groups are more successful than others - despite the effort that was invested to assure their success.
In other words, Jewish Groups provided the same basic elements for every group:
The only thing omitted from that list is the actual discussion. That has to be provided by the participants - the subscribers.
Subscribers do not always respond in a predictable manner to facilitation.
Every group does not have to be a wild success. If a group has potential then it should be given the opportunity to succeed.
There is another reason for a group to flounder. It is not a good idea to release too many groups at once. It is not a good idea to release a new group when another one is still growing. Thus, some groups have been created but they have not yet been publicized.
On occasion, we may refer to a particular new group on another group. New people may join as charter subscribers, despite the fact that the group will not be publicized for a number of months – and the discussion may not begin for up to a year or even more.
We should look proudly at the success of many groups, and we should not be concerned about the limited discussions on the other groups.
The Jewish world does have the option of making a final decision about whether they will indeed take advantage of this tool and resource. In most cases, they have already done so - and created a great advantage to the Jewish world.
