This On Topic section has presented many reasons for keeping everything in its place. Another reason is the librarian in me.
I like to run these groups the way I run other things in my life. Everything should be organized. Everything should have a place. Everything should be where it belongs.
By keeping the groups sorted out in a logical way people can go back to the archives of the groups and check our discussions. They are a record of what we have done and they will find a complete database of information on the topic that we have discussed.
Yes, I know. You're not a librarian. You don't have the same urge to keep everything in its place.
However, there are others on the group, such as myself, who are organized.
We have to be fair to them - and to me - as well.
