So Many Groups - On Topic - Our Jewish Groups

Another webpage showed that the participants have varying demands of the groups. Let us analyze some of the various options:

Some subscribers want to limit the subject to specific topics. They subscribed for a particular purpose, as represented by the name of the group. They don't want to be involved in other topics that are irrelevant to them.
Others argue that these professional forums should be moderated to assure that participants stay on topic. Chatter about topics that are irrelevant to the raison d'etre for the group should not be permitted.
Still others argue that professional forums differ from Internet chat or discussion groups, and that they require strict adherence to the original topic.
And, of course, there are those who want to open the discussion to an unmoderated, free debate on any possible topic.
To say nothing of the varying options in between those listed here.
Of course, there is merit to any point of view that can be presented in this debate. To complicate issues, the next installment in this series will present yet another point of view that may be even stronger than those raised here.
