Our Jewish Groups
Guidelines
Messages are copyrighted

The messages sent out on these groups have a copyright notice on the bottom.

This copyright notice is one of the distinguishing features of an information group.

Most of the groups on the Internet are set up for discussion. The content is thus very different, and it justifiably remains in the public domain. The list owner is happy to have others copy the content, since it offers additional publicity for the group.

Our information groups are different. A great deal of effort may be expended before a given message is posted, and it often contributes significant information to Man's knowledge base. Its value is the same as other copyrighted materials, and it is copyrighted for the same reasons.

Even messages sent out by subscribers are copyrighted. In many cases, they have been processed and prepared behind the scenes, in conjunction with the moderator and with other resources.

At some point in the future, the moderator may choose to publish selected postings. Any preliminary posting or publication of the material would cause damage to the moderator.

Specific items may sometimes be copied after requesting permission from the moderator in writing, and in advance.
