

You should always provide a little bit of context to your Replies. In that way, people who may not have been following the thread closely will be able to determine what you're talking about without difficulty.
Be very careful to edit the quoted sections so that they include only the absolute minimum of text needed to maintain the context for your reply. Don't hit that Reply button until you're sure that you have removed as much of the Replied text as you can.
It is annoying to go through several pages of quoted text only to read a few lines that you have written at the end � and it also wastes valuable e-mail bandwidth. A short, well-selected excerpt is best.
All advertisements should be removed as well.
Make a clear indication of the text that you are quoting (as opposed to the material which you are writing). If possible, cite the author of the original text.
