The proper place to find an answer to questions relating to Jewish Law is your own Rabbi. The Internet is the wrong place to look.
Having said that, perhaps we should explain the reasoning behind our groups that do discuss Jewish Law.
The Passover Haggadah describes four sons. One son does not even know what to ask on the night that is devoted to questions and answers. The Haggadah tells us to take the initiative and to begin telling him about Judaism. (See a further discussion on this issue in the description for Third Son).
Many people may feel the same way when asking a learned Rabbi a question relating to Jewish law. We don't know where to start. Indeed, the ability to pose a proper question, according to Jewish law, offers half of the answer.
The various forums in this series that discuss issues related to Jewish law will help you understand the issues involved in your question. They will open your eyes to the various options, and they will help you phrase your question. They may even present some responses that were provided in similar cases in the past.
After the discussion is completed, you will be in touch with your own feelings. You will have an understanding of the issues. As a result, you will know how to phrase your own question better, and you will have a more successful discussion with your own Rabbi.
That is the basis for our discussions of Jewish Law on some of these groups.
