You thought you knew what a Rabbi is. You're probably right.

However, not all individuals with the title of Rabbi have an equal say on Rabbi Net. This may not be fair, but we have to relate to the sensitivities of our traditional subscribers.

Our Rabbi Net will include only those Rabbis who practice the Rabbinate according to traditional Halacha. In most cases, this definition excludes all forms of Judaism except for Orthodoxy, as well as some Orthodox Rabbis serving in right-wing Conservative congregations.

Conservative, Reconstructionist and Reform Rabbis are welcome on a group that is designed for Orthodox and non-Orthodox Jews as full and equal partners.

All rabbis are welcome to lurk on Rabbi Net, and to voice an opinion on issues that are not related to the Jewish religion.
