Some subscribers to the Jewish Arts, Yiddish Forum and the Jewish Writing forums asked to have the opportunity to publicize their artistic works.
Others asked to maintain the professional tone of those forums. They insisted that publicizing art work to artists, or publicizing books to writers, is akin to preaching to the committed.
Still others wanted to publicize their work, but they were frustrated by the limited audience in any specific group. Those who publicized work on the Jewish Arts group missed the subscribers to the Yiddish Forum and to Jewish Writing. The poor alternative would have meant a great deal of annoying and objectionable cross-posting.
Jewish Professionals was created as a compromise. Those who are interested in finding out about the shows, plays, theater performances, publications, and other work of their professional comrades are welcome to join our group.
In this way, everybody can have what they want.
