Our children's groups have special guidelines. They are not like any other group that you have ever joined, even if it is a pen-pal group.
Jewish Girls is moderated. That means that we only put through messages that are suitable for and acceptable to every girl in the group.
All girls must use proper language and show proper dignity.
It is recommended that the parents supervise any Internet activity with their Jewish children. Jewish Girls will help, as a safe "haven" that will be suitable for your Jewish child.
That does not mean that your child who subscribes to Jewish Girls should have free access to the Internet. To emphasize: Any child who uses the Internet should be supervised.
Jewish Girls and Jewish Boys do have a problem - and this is where the parents could help. Apparently, the girls in Jewish Girls find friends, and then they pair off. They write to each other privately, offline, bypassing the Jewish Girls group.
As long as the girls write to each other on the Jewish Girls group, the messages are controlled.
There is another reason to be sure that your girl does not write offline. As inoffensive as a message may seem, you can never tell who's lurking out there. Thus, any private message to a stranger should be discouraged.
