The Jewish Special Needs group served the community of caretakers and caregivers for the disabled for several years.
At the end of 2004 (just after Chanukah 5765) some disabled subscribers noted that there was no forum on which the disabled could discuss issues of importance among themselves.
Jewish Enabled was born as a result of this discussion.
Disabled people have their own way of dealing with day to day activities and with their encounters and relationships with others. There are often differences between those who were born with a disability and those who acquired it later in life.
We can all offer each other emotional support and practical advice. Many of us can say, "I've gone through it, and here's what helped me."
