Jake is the handsome lad belonging to the White family that they have had the grace to allow me to show him hence he is still in my name. He was kept by the Whites as they wanted to keep one in the litter from Polly and they wanted one that would turn out to look like Uncle Basty. While Queen takes after her dad in looks, Jake is very much like his mother.
He hasn’t been the easiest dog to show as he was untrusting of dogs that are hairy and bigger than him and has an unreasonable fear of raincoats, which we are yet to come to the bottom of. He is a very easy going dog though and a pleasure to take away so I have had a lot of fun with him – the highlight for his owner’s being winning his class of 12 at the Sydney Royal in 2004 and again in 2006 and the highlight for me being winning Best In Group at the first time I had showed him in 6 mths.
He has won multiple Reserve Challenges, Challenges, BOBs, RUBOB’s, Class in Groups as well as a Best in Group and a few Runner Up in Groupa and obtained his title easily. He is now been shown only occasionally as it is difficult to arrange to pick him up / drop him off etc and now that I have two boys at home I don't really want a third staying unless we have to, not to mention Jake & Basty have decided they don't get on anymore.
He is of slow maturing lines so we are expecting more things from this lad in the future, now ably handled by one of his owners, Belinda White. I am very pleased with the way he is maturing both in the head and the body and I am sure he would be of benefit to those who are hoping to introduce his bloodlines into theirs. He excels in topline, front, blackest of black pigmentation with a decent rear end and good head. He has good spring of rib and is filling out to be a fine strong dog. He is a talker and has personality plus. For those who want to use him we are happy for him to be used free of charge currently in return for a bitch pup for the Whites. |
