Freddie was the first born in Queen’s litter and told us how many pups there would be by the ‘7’ on his chest but we didn't notice. What I did notice was his cracking head and nicely shaped body for a pup just born and I thought to myself this is one nice pup. I hadn't really intended on keeping a boy but he was just what I was looking for personality wise as I really wanted a dog that would be as easy going as Basty to stay. I often have people visiting with dogs and I bring home others that I bred on occasion and it makes it so much easier if they get on or can at least tolerate the sight of each other.

Freddie might not be technically correct in some ways, he has his faults like every other dog, but I just love him to pieces and I am very pleased with how he is growing. Matt, who bought two of the other pups—Merc & PT nick named him “McSmiley” and it fits as he loves to smile at you as he is trotting along and is always happy. He is a little noise machine like his mother and constantly grunts and groans and wheezes and snortles and chortles his way around you as he tries to get your attention which is very endearing.

He was a really good puppy in the house with no issues with toilet training, pinching a couple of things here and there but generally being a very good puppy but is a bit on the naughty side outside where he believes anything not nailed down (and some which is) is fair game for chewing on, though he has now grown out of the majority of that. He is very accepting of whatever comes his way and loves to please trying to do what you want all the time and HATES getting in trouble. He enjoys his games with his sister and trashing the lounge room while they are playing.

We are looking forward to seeing how he finishes and I am sure we will continue to have fun with him in the ring seeing that he gained his Championship title easily at just over 14 months. His first shows were the ACT & Districts SBTC shows and the Canberra Sporting Terrier shows where he managed two firsts and a second from four shows. He followed that up the weekend after in Gunnedah with three Baby of Breeds & two sweepstakes placings so he certainly got off to a good start. This followed up with many more Baby of Breeds, a couple of Baby in Groups and a Baby in Show! In Minor he amassed an amazing 7 Minor in Groups, 3 Minor in Shows (including a Specialty one) in Puppy class he has won a Puppy in Show and a Puppy in Group. In Junior he has so far won 6 Junior Groups, 4 Intermediate in Groups, 2 Aus in Groups and 2 Runner Up in Groups. Considering most of the time he is shown up a level so as not to knock his sister out he has done amazingly well. He has recently won Opp Junior in Show at the ACT & Dist SBTC and Reserve Challenge & Opp Junior in Show at the NSW Stafford Society show followed up with Intermediate in Show at the Oct NSW Stafford Show.

His critiques from the Northern NSW Stafford Club shows 2006 read:

Martin Grimwood: Brindle dog who was close up on one. Possibly a stronger head than would be my ideal and this why he was pipped to the placing. Expression as good as one, possibly a neater ear. Forequarters straight and well boned. Drops into a correct picture of angulation when lifted front and rear. Moved smoothly.

Bill Blacker: Beautiful brindle dog who is mature for his age. Strong head, correct bite, neat rose ears, strong underjaw, lovely expression. Straight front with a good depth of brisket, level topline, nice turn of stifle. Balanced. Moves well & shown in excellent condition. I'm sure he'll have a bright future. Pleasure to award him Puppy of Day.

We look forward to seeing his critiques for the Sydney & Canberra Stafford shows. He really is living up to his name & “having a good time” and taking us along for the ride !!!

Una Rigley (Ireland) - NSW Stafford Society - 7/4/07: Tiger Brindle, very good head shape and stop, dark eye with keen expression, depth of brisket and spring of rib, with level topline, correct tail carriage, substance with quality, well muscled, correct bite, moved and handled very well, RCC.

Rob Drummond (UK) - ACT & Dist SBTC - 14/7/07: Very impressive mahogany brindle who was extremely well constructed, beautiful headpiece full of expression, strong skull, good cheek bumps, short muzzle, well shaped eyes set wide in the skull, neat ears. Strong neck leading to well laid shoulders, good ribcage, topline & quarters. Well boned example in good order, mature for his age, leans slightly more to the bull than the terrier, will not often be overlooked.

He is now available at stud to approved girls for those who want to introduce this handsome heavily line bred man into their pedigrees. His first litter produced 1 girl and 4 boys for Dazzlnstaff so look out for Dazzlnstaff Gambling Man “Oswald” & Dazzlnstaff Cuz I Can “Pink”. His second litter is now cooking (we hope) a cousin mating to “Rosie” Ourgang Red Terra from Litter 10.
