Angel aka Angel Baby, The Pest really should have been named Misguided as that certainly suits her better than Angel. She is not the most well mannered of dogs being far too social and absolutely can’t stand being ignored by anyone so she jumps on everyone and LICKS. Her aim in life, I swear, is to lick every part of exposed skin that she can on every person she meets, especially children whom she is obsessed about.
There is not much of her mum in Angel either in looks or temperament except for the body scrunch that Murtle does when she is excited to meet someone, otherwise she is all her father, being lovable, demanding, noisy, jumping and of course bum biting!
There were only two girls in the litter and I am glad I chose Angel because, as pesty as she is, she is very much my special one being a definite Mummy’s girl. Angel is very much mine and does not like being left behind and will cling to Glenn until I return when he then calls her the ‘turncoat’ as she abandons him as though he never mattered. She especially loves her Aunty Corinne as well, who allows her to lick to her hearts content.
In the show ring she has performed well, winning class in Groups at every age level and a number of Challenges and Reserves gaining her title in under two years. It took her a while to work out what I wanted but once she did she usually shows well. She excels in movement and body shape not to mention her good front she inherited from her father. Though she has mixed results at All Breeds shows, she usually places well at Specialty shows.
Her agility is amazing, the best I have seen on a Stafford. She is very bossy being the leader of my girls by the time she was 5 mths old and is still ruling them all with an iron fist. She is very vocal and will tell you if she is not happy as well as when she is happy plus she likes to think of herself as a good guard dog (though only when it suits her – it cant interrupt that precious beauty sleep).
Angel’s biggest thing is that she thinks she is privileged above all and doesn’t believe that the rules we apply to the others apply to her as well, so she is very good at giving you filthy looks when you insist. She thinks her place is on the bed with me at night and on the bed during the day with Glenn (he works nightshift) and if you don’t let her, boy does she get the dirts.
She has had her first litter to Basty (see Litter 10) which she whelped with absolute ease, much to my delight, and was an absolutely perfect mother in every way which I am very grateful for. She finally had a good use for that tongue of hers and kept her babies & the box spotless, when they were old enough she taught them how to play and had just the right amount of ‘friend’ and mean mother in her when she needed it. One of her babies from this litter is a special one and has gone to New Zealand to help the breed there— Ourgang Been Round ThBlock “CJ” who has gone to Lara Francis & Kelly Curtis (Bigblock).
We are looking forward to her next litter (Litter 12) which will be late 2007 from Ch Mosstrooper Make Waves “Tex”. We hope to keep something from this litter — a red girl please Angel ... |
