This mating was done as Basty has the bone and front that I feel Oprah needs improving on and I really wanted something to keep for myself from Basty as this will be his last litter. He also has a very laid back personality which I thought would tone down Oprah’s somewhat attentive one, other than that there really isn't much I would change about Oprah. On paper they match well with Basty being her Great Uncle so there is nothing in the lines that is new.

She is definitely preggers but I don't think with many, a girl for me please Oprah …. Well I was right about the not many…. In fact, there was only one—a boy, Marlin, born by caesarian on Christmas Eve. I thought I had better have a check up for her seeing that there were two public holidays following and was told after the ultrasound—you need to get this puppy out NOW, there is no fluid left and it is in distress so my quick check up turned into a Caesar and in half an hour we were out of there with our new baby in tow. As he was born the day of the last mating, my guess is that I mated her too early and Basty is older his wigglers did not last long enough to impregnate more eggs.

He is a stunning boy, black brindle with a white triangle on his chest, very very cute and advanced with his eyes open at 8 days, teeth and hearing by two weeks and walking around by 2wks 2 days. There are heaps of photos below as we couldn't resist this charming little man. We will watch with pride how he grows and he will go to a special home when we are ready to let him go.
