Que Sera Seramyu by Haruka Please refer to disclaimer and notes in Part 1. Part 6 - Counterattack Ryuji stared in dismay at the state of his hotel room. It had been completely trashed! His closet door was open and stuff from inside it strewn around, the bathroom door was open and his shorts were on the floor, and even his bed had been shoved to one side, his suitcase exposed underneath it. Who would have done this? Why? Could a fan have gotten overzealous and broken in to find a souvenir? He started making an attempt at straightening things out, taking mental inventory at the same time. Nothing seemed to be missing, at least. How odd. When Ryuji piled the closet items back on the shelf, he suddenly realize that he hadn't seen his copy of the script there. He pulled them down again and went through them, then began checking the floor and the rest of the room. The script was nowhere to be found. "This is getting even weirder," he muttered. He supposed he could understand a fan wanting a copy of the script, but there were more valuable Seramyu items in the room that they couldn't have missed given the way the room was torn apart. Ryuji frowned. He _needed_ that script. Yeah, he'd told Nao that he didn't need it, but of course it had been a lie designed to drive her crazy. Uh oh, he thought. If Nao got crazy enough, might she not try to prove that he was lying? And what better way to do that than by stealing his script? The more he thought about it, the more things were starting to make sense, especially Yuhka's strange behavior. Nao had likely asked for the other girl's assistance. Ryuji shook his head as he looked around his messy room. Crazy or not, Nao shouldn't have broken in, snooped through his things and she certainly shouldn't have left his room in this condition. He'd have to punish her for that, he decided, and he'd also have to get his script back so she couldn't say 'I told you so.' Which meant he'd have to do a little breaking and entering of his own. "So what did you do with the script, Nao?" Momoko asked as the group of petty thieves enjoyed some well-deserved coffee. Yuhka was the only one who declined - she'd had more than enough coffee that day already. "I left it in my room when I went to change," Nao said. "I wanted to unload it as quickly as possible in case I ran into Ryuji." "I can't believe we all had the same idea," Marina admitted, tasting the coffee uncertainly. "Do you think Ryuji will be very angry?" "Probably, but he can't dare show it," Hikari replied, leaning back in her chair. "Otherwise it'll prove he was looking for the script, and why would he care about it if he already knows it by heart?" "We shouldn't have left the room a wreck, though," Sayuri said. "No, but that way it looks more like a random break-in," Nao justified, then shrugged. "Besides, it won't hurt ol' Ryuji to do some manual labour. He's always showing off his muscles, anyway." "He'll show them off on _you_, kid, if he finds out you were the one who instigated this," Hikari said knowingly. "You worry too much," Nao said confidently. No wonder Nao had no trouble getting into my room, Ryuji mused. It's too damned easy to get pass keys around here. All you have to do is wave a free ticket in front of a maid and - The lock clicked and Ryuji slipped into the room. The first thing he saw was his script laying on the bed. "Geez, Nao, don't make an effort to hide it or anything." He shook his head. Okay, so she didn't expect him to be breaking into her room, but you'd still think she'd know better somehow. He tucked the script under his arm and turned to leave, then paused, noticing something on the bedside table. "Is that what it looks like?" he wondered out loud. He went over and picked up the little cloth-bound book, then paged through it, eyes widening. Nao's diary. Well, he thought, stuffing it into his pocket with a grin, I owed her a punishment, didn't I? End of part 6 This fanfic is for your private reading enjoyment _only_.
