The Camping Trip
Shoujo Kakumei Utena: The Hidden Chapters
Chapter 5
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
This is our first attempt at an Utena fic.
We haven't even done ones on our own :)
Our disclaimer: We've only seen to episode
29, so don't bug us.
We don't own the characters (Though we wish
We did... Utena locked in our basement in
Chains... heh heh) Saito Chiho and the
Be-PaPas own them, though.
This is fanfiction and may not follow the
'Ways of the Ohtori World'. If things are
a little different, just remember: It's just
fanfiction. Not the end of the world.
I made a funny. (And didn't mean to.)
Wanna add more, Ruka?
Nah, you've pretty much summed it up. Oh,
wait a minute, yeah, one thing. Like usual,
we don't want this fic posted anywhere else,
okay? Thanks.

(Anthy)
"On his left cheek," she said. "Of his face," she added, flipping the
fish.
(Touga)
"He has one on his butt cheek, too," Touga added, salting it
thoroughly. "Okay, no more lake jaunts. We're almost out of salt.
Uh, Saionji, don't look down. You have one on your--"
(Juri)
Juri got out of the water and shook herself off. Sitting on a big
rock, she began to sun herself, confidant that the others were busy
with Saionji's leeches for awhile. Closing her eyes, she enjoyed
the last rays of the sun on the warm rock.
(Saionji)
*faint*
(Utena)
"Oh LORD, I so don't want to hear that, Touga!" Utena cried, blushing
furiously. "Just tell me when he's covered up!"
(Miki)
"Uh, Saionji-sempai?" *nudge nudge*
(Juri)
She got up and went over to get her clothes. After 5 incredulous
minutes of searching, she realized that they weren't anywhere to found.
"What on earth am I going to do?"
(Touga)
"This is so gross, this is so gross," he muttered as he poured salt on
the worst leech. Miki, don't wake him, just get the other leeches off
while he's out of it."
(Juri)
"Hssssssssst, Utena!" she hissed into the clearing, grateful to
see the guys all busy.
(Utena)
Something or someone was hissing at her. Utena looked around and
finally saw Juri's face peeking through a bush nearby. She excused
herself to Anthy, then walked behind the bush. "Juri?!" she gasped.
"Where are your clothes?!" She grinned. "Are all you student council
members going nudist all of a sudden?"
(Juri)
"Shhhhhh!" Juri looked panicky. "Not so loud, please. I can't
find my clothes," Juri whispered, trying to hid behind a cedar bush,
next to a maple tree. "I bathed, and turned around and they were gone!
"Can you get me some from my bag, please?"
(Utena)
"Well, since you said 'please', yeah, sure." Utena grinned and headed
into the campground. "Hey, where's Juri storing her stuff now, Miki's
tent or Touga's?" she asked. "I need to get her some clothes, she's
totally naked."
(Touga)
"Oh, really?" Touga grinned.
(Juri)
"Damn, you," she muttered darkly. "I am going to get you, Tenjou," she
grumbled.
(Miki)
His face reddening and his hands shaking at the thought of Juri
somewhere nearby, naked, Miki accidentally pulled off the last leech
without using salt. Unfortunately that was the leech on his ... uh ....
(Saionji)
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
(Miki)
"Um ... he's awake now, Touga ...."
(Touga)
"Oh, man," Touga looked sicker. "He's bleeeeeding....."
(Anthy)
"Oh, dear, poor Saionji sempai. Was he circumcised BEFORE?"
(Juri)
Wet. Cold. It was wet and cold. She slowly turned to see something
big and black.
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she screamed,
and ran into the clearing, past Miki, Utena and everyone. She ran into
Touga's tent, and into her side.
(Fawn)
A spotted fawn walked out of the woods, through the clearing, and into
the woods again.
[[Note from Utena: Who's doing all these animals, anyway? Animals can't type ....]]
[[Note from Maria: There is nobody here but we Hanaaaa ... animals! Moo.]]
[[Note from Utena: There are no cows in the woods, either!!]]
(Utena and Miki)
"Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!" chorused Utena and Miki as they watched the fawn
leave.
(Saionji)
"Owie owie owie owie owie ...."
[[Note from Saionji: Miki, kindly put your throat within reach of my
hands ....]]
(Anthy)
"Wasn't that sweet?"
(Touga)
"I don't know about sweet," Touga chuckled, looking toward the tent
that Juri bolted into. "Definitely sexy, though."
(Saionji)
Dazed with pain, Saionji managed to get to his feet. "Is there
anywhere SAFE to wash up around here?" he managed to croak out.
(Juri)
"NO!" She yelled from the tent, struggling into clothes.
(Anthy)
"Supper is ready!" She called, dishing supper onto 6 plastic plates,
making sure everyone got a share. "Fish, fiddleheads and chestnuts, with
berries for dessert. It looks good," she said proudly. "There'll be extra
chestnuts tomorrow, too."
(Juri)
"Oh, yay," she said, coming out of the tent. Her face was slightly red
from the embarrassment of running naked. "Oh, yuck, put clothes on,
Saionji!" Men's bodies were SO gross."
(Saionji)
Doing a quick wash with leftover water from the boiled veggies, Saionji
went into his tent and got dressed. His skin was sensitive all over
from the leeches, plus the rocks he had bashed against while being
abandoned to the river. He came back out, walking slowly, and took a
seat to have dinner, thinking all the while how he would make them all
pay for making fun of him.
(Utena)
"Mmmm, Anthy, this came out so well! And I thought you couldn't cook
anything but shaved ice!"
(Miki)
Nodding in agreement, Miki clicked his stopwatch, scratched, and put
another bite in his mouth. "Iz vewy goo, Anfy."
(Anthy)
"Thank you, Utena sama, Miki! I'm glad you're enjoying it!"
(Juri)
Juri sat and thought. How to get back at Utena. What did she ever
REALLY do to her? Besides dueling with her. She lost! What did it matter?
Something good. Something humiliating.
Leeches... done. Ohhhh, so done. Poison, too much. besides, it was
done. Poison Ivy, Poison Oak. done.
"AH!" She cried in frustration.
(Miki)
Startled by Juri's outburst, Miki frowned. "Did you bite your cheek,
Juri?"
(Saionji)
Re-veeeenge, re-veeeeenge, gonna get re-veeeeenge, Saionji sing-songed
in his mind happily as he ate.
(Utena)
Turning to Juri, Utena couldn't help asking, "So Juri, what do you
think happened to your clothes before, anyway?"
(Juri)
Juri turned slowly and gave Utena a very cryptic look. Maybe honey in
that mass of pink hair... Or to lead her somewhere where something humiliating
would happen.
She slowly smiled as she had a very nasty thought.
"I don't know," she smiled smiled smiled. She popped a chestnut in her
mouth.
(Utena)
There was something very creepy about the way Juri was smiling at her.
Maybe she shouldn't have told the boys about the other girl's
embarrassing situation after all.
"Um, Juri?" she ventured. "I want to apologize. About earlier, I
mean. I should have realized that kidding around at that moment was in
pretty poor taste. I'm sorry."
(Juri)
"Oh, of COURSE, Utena, I understand perfectly," you little twit, she
added in her thoughts. You just wanted to humiliate me. I'll get you....
[[Note from Anthy: You're scaring me, Juri sempai...]]
(Touga)
"I'm pretty much done in," Touga sighed, looking up at the moonlit sky.
Juri's tone was creeping him out and he wished he hadn't told her she could use
his tent.
(Anthy)
"I think going to bed might be a very good idea," Anthy agreed. She put
the plastic plates aside. "I'll wash them in the morning."
She began to get the fire ready for the night, getting it built up and
hot so it would last. With a small 'house' over it that she had put
together, rain wouldn't put it out, at least.
(Saionji)
"I'll be back," Saionji said, stretching. "I need to ... ah ... use
the facilities." He picked up a flashlight and headed into the woods.
Now would be the perfect time to go get the instrument of his revenge.
(Utena)
"Anthy," Utena said slowly as she changed into her pajamas in the tent,
"do you think Juri's _really_ mad at me? She kind of scared me out
there."
(Anthy)
"She did seem upset, Utena sama," Anthy told her, changing into her
nightgown. It might be the middle of summer, but it was cool at night
where they were... "Maybe you shouldn't have..." Anthy trailed off, not
being able to actively tell her fiance that she should have been more
sensitive to Juri when she was in a spot.
[[Note from Juri: *dark look* that's for sure...]]
(Utena)
"It's okay, Anthy, you can say it. I was insensitive." Utena sighed.
"I don't know what more I can do, though. I already apologized."
[[Note from Saionji: Make her kiss your feet, Juri]]
[[Note from Juri: More like my butt...]]
(Anthy)
"You were being a boy," Anthy nodded. "Very insensitive. She
called you over to help her. She risked her pride on you, when she knew
that I would have stayed quiet. She's not going to be very forgiving,"
Anthy looked at her seriously.
(Utena)
Well, at least Anthy didn't pull punches once asked for the whole
truth, Utena thought. She was going to have to make it up to Juri
somehow - if she could.
(Juri)
The camp was quiet. It was a lovely, dark, quiet night. Crickets
chirped and peepers peeped, owls hooted, and Juri laughed softly.
Revenge would taste very sweet, she thought to herself. As sweet as
this honey!
She carefully poured the honey in a thin line from the ants' nest to
the tent Utena slept in. Quietly she slipped into the tent, and poured it
into Utena's hair, and over her exposed hand.
What fun...
(Saionji)
Heh heh heh. This was going to be perfect! Saionji thought as he
tiptoed into camp with a cloth-covered bundle under his arm. He carried
it with the careful precision he would use with delicate crystal.
He thought he saw Juri near Ugly Tomboy's tent for a moment, but that
was of little consequence. Slowly, he parted the tent flap and slipped
his bundle inside, gently unwinding the cloth from it. The wasp's nest
was quiet now, but he knew that the little buggers would awaken with the
dawn, and they would not be happy to find themselves out of their tree.
They would take their displeasure out on Ugly Tomboy first, and then on
the rest of the campers. As for him, he was going to take his sleeping
bag and spend the night by the lake.
[[Note from Utena: You guys are SICK!]]
(Touga)
Touga walked back into camp to see Saionji trekking toward the lake
with his sleeping bag. Might be nicer by the lake, but nothing would get
him down there at night. All those nocturnal creatures getting a drink...
and mosquitoes...
He rubbed his stomach. At least the throw up sessions seemed to be
slowing...
*SPLAT*
He looked over to his feet and saw that he had tripped over the
support cord to Miki's tent. He watched as Miki's cute little tent quietly
collapsed on itself, until he could see Miki's outline in canvas.
Oh, he wasn't going to like this...
(Miki)
When had the sky fallen down?!
Miki awoke to find the ceiling of his tent pressing against his face.
It was rather suffocating. Feeling slightly panicked, he fought his way
out from underneath it and saw Touga getting to his feet. "Oh,
Touga-sempai. Did you hurt yourself when you tripped over me?"
(Touga)
"Gahhh..." Touga replied intelligently. He shook his head, then
sneezed from the dust. "I tripped over the tent lines," he said,
pushing his hand through his hair
[[Note from Touga: But not using sparklies... took long enough to get
them turned off last time.]]
then looking down at the smaller boy. "Must have frightened you."
(Miki)
"It's all right." Miki scratched a few choice itches, looking around.
"I guess everyone else is sound asleep, it's so quiet." He got up and
began fixing his tent. "I'll go back to bed myself once I'm done.
Aren't you going to sleep?"
(Touga)
"Everyone but Saionji," Touga said absently. "Bed. Good idea,"
Touga nodded and headed to his tent. He hopefully would feel better in
the morning....
(Utena)
The first thing Utena noticed when she started to come out of the
fuzziness of sleep was a soft buzzing sound. She thought at first it
might be a mosquito hovering over her ear, so she brushed it away
without opening her eyes. Her hand connected with something a little
bigger and heavier than a mosquito, and when she opened her eyes, she
saw a wasp only a few inches from her face. And coming closer.
Resisting the urge to jerk backwards, she slowly drew away from it,
freezing suddenly when something dribbled down her cheek. She raised a
hand up to her hair and felt it come away sticky. She looked at her
palm and sniffed it. Honey?! No wonder the wasp was hanging around
her!
More buzzing drew her attention to the corner of the tent by the exit
and her eyes widened in horror at the sight of the wasp's nest. Only a
few wasps had come out of it so far, but she had no doubt there were
many others inside.
"Anthy!" she hissed, backing away from the one stubborn wasp that kept
coming at her. With dismay she saw a couple of his friends heading her
way now as well. "_Anthy_!!"
(Anthy)
Anthy looked over at Utena. Her eyes widened. "Utena sama, you're
covered in ants!"
(Utena)
"I'm ...what?" Utena's voice was weak. She glanced down at herself and
realized Anthy was right. Dozens of ants had followed what looked like
a honey trail that started outside the tent and ended in her hair. And
the wasps were still coming out of the hive.
"A-Anthy," Utena said carefully, trying hard not to panic. "Stay very
still until I tell you to run, and when I give the signal, leave the
tent and get far away from it, understand?" She started unzipping her
sleeping bag so that it was fully open.
(Anthy)
"Why?" Anthy said, getting out of the sleeping bag she and Utena had
shared for warmth. "What's that buzz? It's... a..."
Her eyes widened in shock "It's... a...
BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE~~~!!!!!!!!!!!
she streaked out of the tent as fast as she could go.
(Juri)
Juri looked up to see the Rose Bride running past in her nightgown and
cap, screaming at the top of her lungs.
(Anthy)
"--EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!"
(Miki)
"What was that?" Miki asked, poking his head out of his tent. "An air
raid siren?"
(Juri)
"It was the Rose Bride," Juri shrugged.
(Anthy)
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE," Anthy continued, running past a
sleeping bag by the lake.
(Miki)
"Something must be terribly wrong!" Miki cried, running out of the tent
in the direction Anthy took. "Juri, check on Utena!"
(Saionji)
What was that?! Saionji looked up and recognized Anthy running away.
"Anthy!" he called, struggling to free himself from his sleeping bag.
"Anthy, wait! What's wrong?! I'll save you! Blasted, stupid BAG!" he
cursed as he fought with the zipper.
(Miki)
"Anthy, wait!" Miki called, running over something lumpy by the lake as
he pursued her.
[Note from Saionji: I'll get you for that, Miki.]
(Juri)
Heading to the tent, she saw some yellowjackets fly out of the tent.
And a loud, angry buzzing. "Utena?" she called, a bit wide eyed.
(Anthy)
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE..."
(Utena)
The wasps had definitely _not_ liked Anthy's screaming and abrupt run
from the tent, and Utena quickly found herself surrounded by them.
Trying not to scream herself, she threw her sleeping bag over the nest
and scooped it up in her arms, charging out of the tent, past Juri, into
the woods. "GET IN YOUR TENTS!" she called over her shoulder.
(Juri)
"Throw it in the lake, Utena!" Juri yelled, "then run for the river!"
She added, jumping into her tent, in time to see Touga getting dressed.
"AAAAAHHHHHHH!" She yelled, running out of the tent and into Miki's.
(Saionji)
FINALLY, Saionji had his zipper free
[[Note from Utena: EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!]]
[[Note from Saionji: Not THAT zipper, you dirty-minded tomboy! And
give me the keyboard back - I was in the middle of a sentence!!}}
and was able to wiggle his way clear of the sleeping bag. He was just
about to step out of it when he heard pounding feet and looked up to see
Ugly Tomboy charge out of the trees with something large wrapped up in
her arms. She looked terrified. And she was heading straight for him.
"HEY! WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING!" he yelled, flailing his arms.
(Utena)
So intent on reaching the lake was she that Utena didn't even realize
Saionji was in front of her until she collided with him, the wrapped
wasp's nest pinned between them. She gave a frightened shriek and
pushed herself away, leaving the nest behind as she stumbled backwards,
then turned and fled for the river.
(Saionji)
"AHHHHHHHHH!" Saionji cried as the shove coupled with the sleeping bag
still wrapped around his ankles sent him tumbling into the river,
hugging the bundle that Ugly Tomboy had left in his arms.
[[Note from Juri: *Ahem* Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]]
(Touga)
With a flat-eyed-look (tm), Touga came out of the tent, wondering how he
got saddled with a flaming lesbian (tm) for a tent companion.
[[Note from Miki: I don't think you can copyright either the 'flaming
lesbian' or 'flat-eyed look' phrases, sempai. I believe Haruka coined
them first.]]
[[Note from Utena: Who the heck is Haruka?]]
(Miki)
"Anthy!" Miki called out, pausing to look left and right. He'd been so
busy running after her that he'd failed to watch for markers and was now
hopelessly lost. What was worse, he'd lost Anthy as well. He scratched
nervously.
[[Note from Touga: They were Trade Marked, not Copyrighted.]]
[[Note from Michiru: Haruka's is mine. Though, we'll share you, Utena...]]
[[Note from Anthy: Uh... no?]]
(Anthy)
Sitting on a stump, Anthy took pains to breathe properly. She had
found her way to the road, and had just realized she was in her nightgown
and bare feet. Luckily enough, she hadn't hurt herself in her mad rush to
get away from the bees.
She headed up the road toward camp, and exclaimed in delight as she saw
a fully laden cherry tree. At least she wouldn't go back empty handed...
[[Note from Utena: *gulp*]]
(Utena)
After staying underwater for almost a full minute, Utena surfaced and
looked around. There didn't seem to be any wasps around her, but then
she left them all back at the lake with Saionji. She felt terrible
about that - what if he was seriously hurt? And what about Anthy? Was
she okay? Where had she gone?
Pulling herself up the bank, Utena was grateful the river current had
slowed since Saionji's earlier fall. She was also glad that the water
seemed to have washed all the honey off her. She decided to go back to
camp and see if Anthy had returned, then start digging into who had
tried to kill her.
