For the moment I'm just using this page for notes. I'll put it into a better format at some point.
The village is named Tarwin's Reach
There are about 30-40 families living in the village, and another 30 or so farms scattered in the local area
The village is located just North of the Blessed Isle. It's near the South-Western corner of the land mass below the White Sea
It's in the foothills of a mountain range, on th eopposite side from Whitewall
Houses Mnemon controls several large Jade mines in the mountains, and has a lot of influence in the local area
About 4 or 5 hours South East by foot is a medium sized town
The town is on the road which leads through the major pass into the mountains (which is North-ish of the Town)
That pass, and another much smaller one North-Westish of the village, are the only ways through the mountain range in the area
About an hour West of the village is an Immaculate Order monastry
The monastry houses about 40 monks
The monastry is closed to those not in the order, but there is also a small temple ajoining it
The temple is open to anyone, and religious cermonies are held there, as well as other temply things
Often, one or more of the monks will teach in the village
North-ish of the village, about 2 hours away, is an abandonded gold mine
Several of the farms in that area are owned and run by individual responsible for guarding the mine (eg keeping people out).
During summer, many people travel through the passes, and caravans of Jade flow continuously from the mines to the ports South and South-West of the village, so there are always strangers in the area and the inns are usually fairly busy.
In winter the passes are blocked by snow, but many of the miners reside in the town (or the village)
The Immaculate Faith is the dominate religion, but not the only one in the area
The area is heavily dominated by the Realm
Many of the locals have at one time worked, lived or at least been to the Blessed Isle
I'm sure there's some local crop that's highly regarded across the world (Two Rivers Tabac!)
