| What's this? |
| This is the property that is directly beside of our church property. Some day, Mr.Thieman said, he would sell it. Would we like to have first refusal on it? We said yes, but not just because it was beautiful. We felt we could put it to good use. If we expand, we will actually need it. Problem! Mr. Thieman suddenly decided that he wanted to sell it....NOW! Would we like to buy it? When Pastor Lough put this before us a few months ago, most of us were quite stunned. The church itself was beyond anything we had ever imagined, so how could we ever afford to buy THIS property? After some months of prayer, fasting, thinking, and discussing, we decided that it couldn't be done, that is, without God's help. The house was sooooo big, and had to be included in the sale. We just could not afford it. Then Pastor Lough said that if the church would agee to buy most of the land, he would sell his own home on Shadow Hill and buy the house. So this his is what we did. Pastor Terry and Vicki Lough now live in the house above. The church owns the pond along with the original property, altogether 66 acres of land. After we sell the land we do not need and sell the timber, which is now at its top value, we expect our new property to go far toward paying for itself. In the photo above, Brian Metz and his family are enjoying an afternoon of relaxation. Brian just returned from Iraq, and we are so thankful to have him safely back home. |
