Before construction began, we gathered together for a ground-breaking ceremony. Speeches and prayers were made.  Pastor Lough is making his comments here as he plants his shovel into the ground. Some of the people that were involved in the main ceremony you can see above. Left to right:

Terry Lough the Second (Pastor's Son)
West Virginia Senator Donna Boley
Robert Criss (Trustee)
Pastor Terry Lough
West Virginia Legislator Ottis Leggett
Senior Pastor Robert Lough
Willard Johnson (Trustee)
Guest Dignitaries Donna Boley and Ottis Leggett express their feelings with their hands.
Father (Senior Pastor Robert Lough) and son (Pastor Terry L. Lough)
try to imagine what God has planned for the future in our new facility.
As Phyllis Adams observes the ground-breaking,
she has wonderful memories of the beginnings of our church when the very first building was constructed.

Chester Stamley Dayhoff and Elizabeth Margaret Dayhoff
dedicated their lives to the founding of the
Apostolic Faith Church.
They never imagined that such a building could ever be possible for our assembly.
I wish they could come back, if just for a little while,
to see what their sacrifice has meant to us.
They planted seeds of faith, the Loughs and others in the church watered those seeds,
and now God is giving the increase!

Who knows what will come next?
We can hardly wait!
Willard Johnson takes his turn officially breaking the ground.

Our new building will replace this present facility on Sixth Street which has served us well since it was built in 1960.

   Chester Stanley Dayhoff
came to St. Marys in 1938 and held revivals in a building on Creel Street.
By 1939, this first building was
erected as a temporary structure.
It was not replaced until after his death in 1960.
