Jill Thacker, a young lady from Parkersburg, had the great honor of becoming the very first person to be baptized in our new baptistry. It was a private baptism, but because this was a "first event" she gave us permission to take the photos for our records and for our web site. Thank you. Jill.
ACTS 2:38-39 And Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized, every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
We follow this scripture in our baptism, and ALWAYS use the Name of Jesus Christ as we baptize. It was done this way on the Day of Pentecost and in other places in the scriptures where baptizm took place. This was correct then, and is correct now, as our part in God's salvation plan. He died for us, and we are buried with Him when we are baptized in his name. Thank you, God, for your great Love and Mercy!
