For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again,
even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
We are an earthly-minded people and often think and feel in the flesh. To God, our flesh is nothing; He will make us new bodies. It is our soul that concerns Him; that part of us which will live on into eternity.
He does know the pains of loss and the temptations we face because of our pain; He was here and went through these things.. He Himself endured these things and much more, so that we might live on past this aging, broken-down and fleshly shell.
When we make the effort to see through spiritual eyes the promises of God, we see that our loved ones who've passed on, are only resting in Christ. We will see them again if our salvation rests in Jesus.
Rest your hope in Christ, and you will live forever with those who have gone on before you.
