If You're My Friend
If you know a child that can't afford brand name clothes,
Don't make fun of them... if you're my friend.
That was me.

If you know brothers so poor,
One has tennis shoes and one doesn't, so they have to switch shoes during school for gym class,
Don't laugh at them... if you're my friend.
That was me.

If you know a teenager that's hard-headed and out of control,
Talk to them a lot and listen...if you're my friend.
That was me.

If you see a drunk stumbling down the road,
Don't laugh; thank God it's not you...if you're my friend.
That was me.

If you know someone and their spouse has left them,
and they were never allowed to see their children again,
Tell them they weren't rejected by all, just one...if you're my friend.
That was me.

If you know someone who feels that they have had a very tough life,
And their heart has turned to stone,
Pray that God crushes it and molds a new one...if you're my friend.
That was me.

So if you know someone like this,
Consider my plea
If you're my friend
Please do it for me.
