IALO is a hit! | ||
After nearly five months of
waiting for it's release... IAL fans have been anxiously awaiting it's
first public release... on it's first public release.... it had thirty
five players...
On it's first official release (none alpha)... it had thirty six... It's A Living Online is officially a hit now.. usually games on BYOND that are REALLY good have at least twenty five people on at a time, and look at it... Over thirty. That's plenty great. The game it's self is almost completed. I just have to add these few additions... -Clans (Mobs,
Groups, etc etc.) We have a permanent host now. Although the server closes at 7PM Central time every day.... it'll be open in the morning. (Till 7PM.) The game's full release (published ersion)... may be tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed! |

Announcement | ||
The first IALO official public
test came to pass last night, and it was great! There were like twenty
people playing. Pretty decent for a game that's not even completed yet. I
added a screen shot to the screen shots section. It's of us planning a
huge attack on the Critter-jin. I also would like to list a few things I
plan on trying to update today on IALO.
-Critter-jin will have less
HP. What sickened me about the test is the lack of team work to kill Critter-jin. I mean... some people were stupid enough to kill their own people ON PURPOSE in the middle of a Critter-jin assault on the Human Stronghold! It surprised me on how stupid people can be. So I'm going to make a few rules on the game. If you refuse to obey them, it's your ass. So don't be stupid. Oh yes, and if IALO came to PS2... this is what it would look like. =) |

A lot more completed. | ||
Woo. I've done a lot today. I added the sleep system... (Yes, you can even dream.) Finished the rest of the maps. (Decided not to make as many as I said I would.) Not I just have to finish Cloudians... fix a few bugs, and add drinks, foot, clothes and shoes, and also add a few mobs, and objects, then I'll be finished. Then the game will be completed. New screen shots are available in the screen shots section. |

More screenshot available.
I managed to get a lot done today, but for some reason I can't get the character creation to work right, but don't worry! I can fix it! I can fix anything having to do with Dream Seekers coding. =) I'm the mastah. Fo'sho. Anywho. Enjoy the new screen shots! There are like five new ones! |

No bugs so far. | ||
Another test commenced on October 29. It was a standard test, and no bugs were found. Four cities to the game have basically been completed. They just need final touches. (Mobiles and such.) I have not yet worked on the game since Friday, because I've been very busy, with Halloween and all. Also there is a new screen shot section. Enjoy. |

More testing | ||
The game's battle system has
been finally installed into the game. I didn't get to get a screen shot of
my friends and I killing each other, but I did maul an mobile. Notice the
blood trails, as I drag her along behind me.

A few additions. | ||
The testers and I had a brain
storm while we were testing the game. Why not create crates that allow you
to deposit a limited amount of items? Well why stop there? How about a
Refrigerator system as well! Yep! Crates and Refrigerators will soon be
available... crates are done. Check out the recent screen shots!
Also, I'd like to say that the GMs have the power to change the in game temperature. Which will effect everyone's health. So on the Health Status, it may say ... "You feel slightly cold." or "You feel a bit warm.", and such. The minimum degrees is 50, and the maximum is 100, to prevent the GMs from frying or freezing everyone. =) The amount of clothing you're wearing will also effect how your health status is when the temperature changes. For example, if you're wearing a tank top and shorts out in 64 degrees, you'll freeze your butt off! More progress will be posted either later today or tomorrow. |

The first test has come to pass!
The the first test was great.
Not one bug. Plenty of ideas were put into my head to make the game
better. Such as people starting factories, and supply their own icons for
them, such as furniture and such. (Food and drinks no.) I might also allow
people to supply their own clothing icons. =) Here's a screen shot me and
the other GMs posed for.

So the game is now playable, now what?
That's right, after nearly two
months of work, the game is finally playable, but there's a minor bug with
the saving, and loading the map objects. Take a look at this screen shot.
Notice that one door is open... it saves perfectly and all, I believe that there is something wrong with the loading part of the coding. I'm sure it can be easily fixed, I just have to over look the coding a bit, and see what I did wrong. |

Updates | ||
Wow, it's been a while since
I've updated! I have great news! I've been working on IALO alot
lately, and more and more is getting completed. I bet a lot of you thought
I dropped the project. No. I've just been really busy. IALO is still being
worked on, and is becoming better and better every day. Although not much
has been has been finished, the game is progressing still. I've also
started another project which will not be able to be seen on this site
yet, mainly because I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to
finishing it. Well, go check out the IALO updates everyone! Oh yes, and
I've changed my e-mail address. We have DSL now. Oh and... here is the
first official screen shot for the game.

Updates And a New Forum | ||
I've added a forum. There you
can chat and or rant about It's A Living Online, make suggestions, put in
ideas, and help make the game better. Idea's are helpful. Who knows, if we
use it in our game, we'll give you a free character registration. Also, I may be getting an expansion pack to Everquest within the next few days, so I may have to limit my work on It's A Living Online per day, so I can play Everquest and have a social life. I'll at least work two-three hours a day on It's A Living Online, and the game will still be beta tested around August 7th and or August 8th. (The time when I finally get DSL.) I too am excited about this game, but I'm trying to take my time with it, and put all the time I can with it... but I can't put too much. There comes a time in every persons life when they become so obsessed with a goal, even their friends worry about them, and that time has come for me. Austin: Dude, what are you
doing? So after a grown up man to man talk with my friend Austin, we went on our way, and had fun swimming. The best part was when John pulled down Austin's trunks, and shoved him into the pool. Heh, the lifeguards didn't even see him do it. It's funny cause it's sad. |

It's A Living Online Official Site Release Announced/Lots Of Updates
It has come to my attention
that It's A Living needs an official website, like it use to. The official
website shall be released by either this weekend, or next week. With
information on all the past It's A Living games, and more specific
information on It's A Living Online, the game currently being created by
me. I worked on It's A Living Online for about five hours today, and finished a good amount of it. I manage to make 30 different kinds of food icons. (Including Oranges, Peppers, Limes, Pizza, and yes, even Hamburgers and rice.) Mexican food, as well as Chinese and Japanese food will be available. (And several other foods, such as Italian, and French.) I did not get any drinks done, or anything else done today. I want to try and get all the food icons finished by Friday, so I can begin work on the drink icons. Up on completion of those, I'll work on the turfs and objects some more. I want to get all this finish by next week so I can begin working on the programming in order to get enough done for the beta testers to play coming August 7th or 8th. |

It's A Living Online Progress & Information On Freeze Tag
It's A Living Online is
turning out to be great. I like how all the graphics are turning out. I
have yet to get to the character sprites though, but I'm sure I'll have
those done by the end of the week. I don't want to give out a release
date, but I'm guessing the game will be done around mid or late August.
Hopefully by then anyway. It'll release as late as September, but I hope
not. I am taking my time on it though. I want it to come out perfect,
without any bugs, or any way of cheating. The game, on completion will of
course go through some beta testing stages, which require beta testers. If
you want to beta test It's A Living Online next month, then please e-mail
me at [email protected].
I will only need ten beta testers. So if you don't sign up by then, it'll
be too late.
By the way, has anyone played that awesome Freeze Tag game on BYOND? I have. It's quite addictive. It needs more levels though. Click here to check it out. It's A Living Online's tag system will be quite similar to that, but without the game resetting. I believe that you'll be able to start and or join other games of tag in It's A Living Online. For example, let's say you want to play tag, you click the Mini-Game's tab. Click Join Tag, or Start Tag, if you were to Join a tag game, there will be a list of games that are currently being played, you can join any of them, but you'll have to wait until the current game is finished before starting a new game and or joining a different game. Racing on the other hand is sort of a "Free Will" mini game. You basically make up the rules, and pick a good area (hopefully at a racing area, not on streets, you don't want to run over and kill someone do you?) and race. Again, be careful to not run over someone. There are lawyers in It's A Living Online, so you could go to jail for quite some time for murder. Of course you'll get a fair trial. I'd also like to say that there will most likely be more houses, and business houses then I am letting on in the Projects section. In order to keep people from being homeless, there has to be AT LEAST fifty to one hundred houses in each city. It'll take a while to meet that requirement, but I'll try. Screen shots of the game will be available within the next two weeks. |

It's A Living Online Announced
Welcome back everyone. After a long period of time we are finally back, with new projects and tons of great stuff, but unfortunately we dropped all of our older projects for the new ones. It's okay. The new ones will be twice as good. I promise. I'd also like the Announce the creation of It's A Living Online. What is It's A Living Online you ask? It's the final release of the It's A Living game series for BYOND. It's A Living and It's A Living V, were the most popular of the series, mainly because It's A Living II, II, and IV were not much of a life simulation. That's right. It's A Living is a online 2D life simulation game. In It's A Living V you could buy a house, get married and have children. You could also open up a business, buy a car, own a mob and or a gang. Everything was packed into it. Including a few mini games such as Soccer, and Drag Racing. It was a great game, until one day the source code was deleted off my computer, and I was unable to work on it any more, now it's just played on every now and then, but to us (The Ou812 team) the other IAL games never existed. Mainly because... It's A Living Online... will not only top the older games, it'll make the IAL fans forget about them. For more information on It's A Living Online, check out the Project's section. |
