OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY PLACEMENTS IN UGANDA

The Uganda Association of Occupational Therapists (UAOT) has set procedures for overseas OT students and qualified therapists coming to practice in the country. The overseas students coordinator is responsible for arranging fieldwork placements for students considering the theme and objectives of their placement. The association ensures that overseas students get adequate supervision by a qualified practicing Occupational Therapist. This is to help the student attain required standard of practice.

UAOT welcomes OT students and volunteers from all over the world that can meet their living expenses while here. At the moment we do not encourage qualified OTs coming to seek employment opportunities. This is because many of Ugandan OTs are not yet employed. However, if you can get funding from else where, you are welcome to work in Uganda.

Besides practicing Occupational Therapy, Overseas OTs and students coming to Uganda will enjoy a warm reception by Ugandans. You will also have an opportunity of viewing beautiful national scenery and Wild life across the country. We promise that your stay in the Pearl of Africa will offer you a pleasant experience worth writing home about.
