Tom Hanks. What a famous man. It amazes me how much he has done in his life. I'm in awe. He's a great actor, a director, and a family man to boot. Sounds like a good combination to me! I can't even name all of the things he's been in but some of my favorites are A League of Their Own, Sleepless in Seattle, Forrest Gump, Toy Story (yes, he was the voice of Woody), You've Got Mail, and The Green Mile. I'm also excited to see his new movie with Leo called Catch Me If You Can. I just saw the previews this weekend when I went to the movies and it looks like a winner! Backing it up a little bit, I pick Forrest Gump as my absolute favorite Tom Hanks movie. Forrest is just so loveable and even though he's not very smart he does so much with his life. We ended up getting the movie because my dad's job had it and threw it away. The reason they threw it away was because part of the tape part of the video caught on fire so thanks to sophomore technology class I was able to splice it, tape it back together, and add it to the collection. Of course, we lost about thirty seconds, but it's alright, we know what happens and it's not a very important part. I also went to Savannah, Georgia and saw where the Gump bench once sat and where the feather at the beginning falls down. That was fun. Great movie everybody, great movie. I've noticed Tom likes to play the average guy in his movies. That's kind of like his trademark or type cast.
Tom is married to Rita Wilson who is in such films as Now and Then, Sleepless in Seattle, Runaway Bride and many others. She met Tom in 1985 while filming Volunteers, which they are both in. They now have two children named Chester and Truman and he has two children named Colin and Elizabeth with his first wife Samantha Lewes. Tom Hanks is just a great guy everybody, just a great guy I tell you. |
