* Exported from MasterCook * Oma's Hazelnut Christmas Cookies Recipe By :Jeannette Field Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Regular Sweet Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ --------------------------------- 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup sugar 1 egg 1/2 cup ground hazelnuts -- (or more) 5 1/2 cups flour -- sifted 1/4 teaspoon baking soda Sprinkles to decorate 1) Preheat oven to 375° 2) Blend butter, sugar, salt and egg. 3) Add dry ingredients and nuts. Blend well. 4) Shape into a roll, 2 1/2" diam. 5) Roll in wax paper. Chill overnight. 6) Cut thin slices, since cookies spread. Brush with egg and add sprinkles. 7) Place slices on greased cookie sheet and bake for 12- 15 min. Description: "Oma was what my siblings and I called our grandmother (German for "Nana").
