* Exported from MasterCook * Oma's Butter Christmas Cookies Recipe By :Jeannette Field Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Regular Sweet Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ --------------------------------- 1/2 cup Butter 1/4 teaspoon Salt 1 cup Sugar 1 Egg 2 cups Flour 1 teaspoon Baking soda 3 tablespoons Milk 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla 1 Egg -- beaten Sprinkles -- to decorate 1) Preheat oven to 400° 2) Blend butter, sugar, salt and egg. 3) Blend together dry ingredients. 4) Blend milk and vanilla. 5) Mix dry ingredients and milk alternately to wet ingredients. 6) Blend well. 7) Chill dough for 2- 3 hours. 8) Place 1/4 of dough on a floured surface and roll to 1/8" thick. 9) Cut out with cookie cutters, brush with egg and sprinkle with sprinkles. 10) Place on greased baking sheet. 11) Bake 12- 15 min. Description: "Oma was what my siblings and I called our grandmother (German for "Nana").
