Review:
Sunday May 22nd 2005 - The Couch Addiction (Montreal
Ska), Cobra Noir (Montreal Punk), The Nads (CD Release),
The
Knockoffs (Cornwall Punk),
Take One For The Team, Delusions,
and The Intruders @ The Blackburn Community Center.
The
Couch Addiction = Hardcore Ska with keyboards. I'd like to see these
guys rock out with Misunderstood? I think Misunderstood? fans would have
loved this band. I only caught a part of Cobra Noir's set - but a friend
of mine really enjoyed their show. I only heard good things about them.
The Knockoffs are always a lot of fun, and I think these guys would
fit well with The Creeps or The Sewer Rats for a future Ottawa show. Take
One For The Team just get tighter and tighter and more insane (Eat
your heart out Charles Bronson). I had these guys booked for The Ripcordz
show in Cornwall till it got canceled. Delusions = Issac screaming
(and I don't mean words - just literally screaming). I like it. Issac's
other band The Vanishing Act played with the Sewer Rats at the Old Arcade
in Cornwall last summer.
The Intruders - watch out - in a few years
they could be one of the hottest bands in Ottawa. Their music is kind of
grunge - imagine early Hole but with a lot more potential. Thanks to
Sir
Punkly Productions for putting on this show. I'd like to thank the
Knockoffs for the ride sharing and getting The Nads to this show, regardless
of Chris smashing the hood of his car on my head :OP Also thanks to the
Cornwall gals who came to punk it up in the suburbs. Also thanks to Franky
for taking these pics! |
