-Monday October 30: I haven't been updating this page lately because I've been spending a lot of time work on my other site, THE CYCLING SOURCE. It has a large web directory, news , pictures, videos and classifieds. Be sure to check it out! I hope to have time to get this page back up to speed soon. In the meanwhile, all the permanent resources (links, shops, clubs etc) are still working. -Tuesday August 22: Ottawa riders once again met with great success at the Ontario Championships, held this past sunday in Port Hope. The highlight was Colin Burn's victory in the Junior Men's race with a courageous solo break. OBC prez Avery Burdett placed second in Vet D, and Marc Chiarelli took third in Vet A. -Monday July 31: The OBC Grand Prix was contested this Saturday on the parkway circuit in the Gatineau Park. Results are available here. -Monday July 24: The National Mountain Bike Championships at Camp Fortune wound up yesterday with the elite xc races. Chrissy Redden and Chad Myles annihilated their respective fields to take the men's and women's senior titles. Julian Hine pulled out an excellent seventh place overall. -Friday July 21: The one thing marring the Elgin Street crit was a couple of nasty crashes. Word is that Bob Hicks fractured two vertebrae, and has been in hospital. Hopefully he recovers soon. -Tuesday July 18: The Elgin street crit was a big success yet again. While the 50-lap Classic was won by an out of town rider, the local crew proved that they are a force with a second place finish from Craig Burge, third from Bill Hurley, and fourth by Osmond Bakker, who took the field sprint. In a virtual replay of last year, Julian Hine took the the Fat Tire Crit, this time beating out Lucas Curran for top spot. Thanks to John Large and the rest of the crew for putting on such a good event. |
