Chinese (Mandarin) for Fun A (1.5 hrs/week: 2:30 - 4:00 p.m. Sundays)
New course offering! This is a brand new course designed especially for children (ages 4-5) from non-Chinese speaking backgrounds. This course places emphasis on conversational skills, and is designed for students to learn in a friendly, relaxed, and interesting atmosphere through games, role playing, and other activities. Small class size (4-6 children) ensures fully individualized attention and maximal interaction. Cultural awareness is also integrated into the course for a more all-around learning experience. Parents are welcome to join and learn together with children.
Chinese (Mandarin) for Fun B (1.5 hrs/week: 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Sundays)
New course offering! This is a brand new course designed especially for children (ages 6-9) from non-Chinese speaking backgrounds. This course places emphasis on conversational skills, and is designed for students to learn in a friendly, relaxed, and interesting atmosphere through games, role playing, and other activities. Small class size (4-6 children) ensures fully individualized attention and maximal interaction. Cultural awareness is also integrated into the course for a more all-around learning experience.
Chinese (Mandarin) for Fun C (1.5 hrs/week: 3:00 - 4:30 p.m. Saturdays)
New course offering! This is a brand new course designed especially for children (ages 10-14) without Mandarin background, or with very limited Mandarin background. This course places emphasis on conversational and reading skills, and is designed for students to learn in a friendly, relaxed, and interesting atmosphere through games, role playing, and other activities. (Definitely no mechanical text copying in class!) Small class size (4-6 children) ensures fully individualized attention and maximal interaction. Cultural awareness is also integrated into the course for a more all-around learning experience.
Advanced Chinese Writing (ages 12-16) (2 hrs/week)
New course offering! This course is designed for children with some basis in reading and writing Chinese; enrolment is limited based on level.
More Information:
For the Spring 2004 term, the above courses will be offered Saturdays from Mar. 27 to Jun. 19 (11 weeks) or Sundays from Mar. 28 to Jun. 20 (11 weeks). No class on April 10/11 and May 22/23.
Cost: $165 per child or $250 for one child and one parent + $10 Materials Fee for Spring 2004 Term
