| Your favorite Newbery author is going on a book tour to promote their latest book. The publishers want a bookmark about the author to give away with every book sold. |
| The publisher wants you to create the bookmark! You will email the bookmarks to the publisher and take copies to your school and public library for distribution. |
| 1 ~ Choose your favorite Newbery winning author. 2 ~ Using the resources in this link to research your author. The publisher wants you to include a picture of the author, biography facts, the reason why the author started writing books, a list of their books and why you think someone should read books by this author. 3 ~ Write these biography facts on note cards: name, date of birth, home, family and pets. Include what inspired them to become a writer. 4 ~ Scan or save the picture of your author in jpg format to your folder on the OTS1 server. |

| 5 ~ Make a list of all the books written by your author including the title and copyright date. 6 ~ In Microsoft Word write why you would want to read books by this author in one or two sentences and save this to your folder on OTS1. 7 ~ Cite your print resources on note cards. Print the web resources out. You will enter the information into NoodleTools during lab time. 8 ~ During a final lab you will bring all of your notes and we will assemble our bookmarks in Microsoft Word using this as an example. 9 ~ Your bookmark will be evaluated, edited, reprinted on card stock, cut and distributed. |
